I am your certified Immersive Meditation Guide.

And here is my story...

Fourteen years ago, I lost my six-week-old son Matteo. I was broken, grieving and in search of healing and meaning. It was during this time that I found mindfulness and meditation.

The teachings of mindfulness are ultimately what led to the easing of my grief; it is what allowed me to hold the searing pain of loss, while also experiencing the extreme joy of raising Matteo’s twin brother, Oliver. In meditation, I could create space for both.

The thing about bringing mindfulness and meditation into my life is that it didn’t just help me with my grief, it turned my whole life upside down, in the very best of ways.

Prior to all of this, I was the girl at the back of the yoga class sneaking out during savasana, finding myself restless, uncomfortable, bored and completely unable to be still. I had very little self-confidence, no real sense of self, and I looked outward for security, approval and contentment.

All of that started to drastically change once meditation was part of my daily routine. Not only did I start to heal from my devastating loss, but I also started to reap all kinds of other benefits. I was feeling calmer, more at ease, and I was beginning to get to know myself in the deepest of ways.

By going within, I was becoming more self-aware, understanding the way I reacted, interacted and how my thoughts affected how I felt. I cultivated tremendous self-compassion as I took my time to explore my inner world, offering myself patience, forgiveness and the opportunity to start each day fresh.

I was a completely new person and life had never felt more alive, more meaningful and more joy-filled.

Fast forward years later and I knew that I had to bring this practice to others. Who better to begin with than my little 5-year-old Oliver. I was so astounded by how well he responded to mindfulness and meditation, that I was inspired to take it to my grade-two classroom. Fun fact: I’m also an elementary school teacher!

When my little Mindful Moment Classroom challenge spread like wildfire across Ottawa schools I knew that the adults in their lives needed it too, so Mornings with Becca was born.

I became certified as an Immersive Guided Meditation Facilitator and I’ve been guiding women within ever since. I have had the distinct pleasure of watching so many women wake up to the unfolding of their own precious life, as they explore their inner world and begin to believe in who they are and what they desire.

Every single week-day morning for the past 6 years I have invited women into my own very personal practice. We rise and shine together, so that we can step into our day centered, grounded and with intention.

Through mindfulness, meditation and journaling, I have come home to myself.

And this is what I guide others to do.
